Branched-Chain Amino Acids

The building blocks of muscle and tissue, these compounds in our greens supplement do everything from repair your muscles, provide energy, increase weight loss and aid in nutrient absorption.

Glutamine:

Glutamine is the most common amino acid found in your muscles – over 61% of skeletal muscle is glutamine. This BCAA burns fat and builds lean muscle mass by helping suppress insulin levels and stabilize blood glucose. The stabilization of blood glucose allows the body to use less muscle mass to maintain blood sugar and insulin sensitivity in the cells.

Glutamine also improves athletic performance and recovery from endurance exercises.  Several studies have shown glutamine supplementation makes it possible to recover quicker from intense weight training sessions due to improved muscle hydration.  This aids the muscle recovery process and reduces recovery time for wounds and burns.

Glycine:

Glycine helps form glutathione, a valuable antioxidant that’s used to prevent cellular damage and various signs of aging. Another important function of Glycine; helping carry out the biosynthesis of heme, a component of haemoglobin that helps produce and maintain red blood cells. Valine helps prevent the breakdown of muscle by supplying the muscles with extra glucose for energy production during intense physical activity. Valine also helps remove potentially toxic excess nitrogen from the liver, and is able to transport nitrogen to other tissues in the body as needed.

Isoleucine:

Isoluecine is a ketogenic amino acid which means it can be converted into ketones for energy use and fat burning. This BCAA is also important for synthesis of hemoglobin and other proteins, detoxification of nitrogen wastes, wound healing and immunity.
